Altcoin Portfolio Framework
Turn scattered wallets, exchange records, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Base, and app positions into one understandable altcoin folio. This framework prioritizes ownership, provenance, security, and repeatable decisions—not speculative signals.
One folio, five connected layers
A useful portfolio view begins with ownership and location. List every wallet, platform account, staking account, and application position before calculating allocation. Each location should identify the owner, network, custody model, and source of truth.
The transaction layer explains how quantities changed. The valuation layer adds prices under a documented policy. The risk layer groups network, custody, protocol, liquidity, and operational dependencies. The decision layer records why a position exists and what would cause it to be reviewed.

Allocation without false precision
Assign each position a role before assigning a target. Core network exposure, application exposure, experimental positions, liquidity reserves, and short-duration trades need different limits and review schedules. Use target bands rather than exact percentages so ordinary price movement does not force constant trading.
Group positions by economic dependency as well as token. Several assets can still represent one concentrated bet when they rely on the same network, bridge, custodian, wallet recovery phrase, or protocol. The folio should switch between asset allocation and dependency allocation without changing the underlying records.
Reconcile first, interpret second
Match internal transfers before calculating contributions or returns. A withdrawal from a platform and a deposit to a personal wallet are two source records for one movement. Preserve both, link them, and record the fee separately. Unmatched transfers, unknown assets, and missing basis should remain visible in an exceptions queue.
Do not let a dashboard hide data quality. Show when prices are stale, positions are estimated, assets are unverified, or a source has not refreshed. A portfolio total should be traceable to the account, asset identifier, transaction, and valuation used to produce it.
A calm review cycle
Separate continuous observation from scheduled decisions. A weekly or monthly review can import records, reconcile balances, inspect allocation bands, and update thesis notes. Event-driven reviews can handle security incidents, custody failures, major protocol changes, or positions crossing hard limits.
Use new contributions and planned withdrawals as the first rebalancing tools. Record the reason for every action—and every decision to do nothing. The result is an altcoin portfolio that can be explained even when the market cannot.
